E. Lee Hennessee
Managing Principal

E. Lee Hennessee, Managing Principal of the Hennessee Group LLC, focuses on manager selection and client services development. She directed the Hennessee Hedge Fund Advisory Group beginning in 1987 as a division of E.F. Hutton and continuing at Republic National Bank and Weiss, Peck and Greer.

She began her career at Thomson McKinnon Securities where she performed institutional and retail sales. Ms. Hennessee served as a finance chair for Elizabeth Dole's presidential campaign and the 2005 New York City Billy Graham Crusade. She co-founded the New York City Christian Women's Fellowship, which folded into Campus Crusade, and was a founding Angel for 100 Women in Hedge Funds. Ms. Hennessee is also a Trustee of Palm Beach Atlantic University, National Chairwoman and Founding Member of Easter Seals Florida, and was a member of the Women’s CEO Summit that met with President and Mrs. Bush as an advocate for women CEOs. Ms. Hennessee is known as an extraordinary fundraiser for charities that involve children and young people. In addition, she has been an inspirational speaker for twenty five years, encouraging women in the business to be successful and to win by not compromising their business ethics.

Ms. Hennessee is one of the most widely sourced consultants in the hedge fund industry and has published articles in Barron’s and Pensions & Investments. She is often quoted by other major financial publications, including The Wall Street Journal, and has made guest television appearances as a hedge fund expert on CNN and CNBC. In May 2007, she was selected as one of New York's 50 most powerful women. Her pioneering efforts in 1987 created the first hedge fund manager database which is the forerunner of the Hennessee Hedge Fund Indices®.

Ms. Hennessee has been Series 3 and 7 registered since 1976 and also holds Series 24, Series 65 and Series 63 registrations.

 
Charles J. Gradante
Managing Principal

Mr. Gradante focuses on research, market analysis, risk management and portfolio design. In 1995, following a twenty-five year financial industry career, he joined the Hennessee Hedge Fund Advisory Group as co-director while it was a division of Weiss, Peck & Greer. He co-founded the Hennessee Group LLC with Ms. Hennessee in 1997.

Mr. Gradante brings “hands-on” experience in risk management, portfolio analysis, trading and venture capital. He has held executive positions in banking and securities, as President and CEO of Union Chelsea National Bank, and Drexel Burnham Lambert, where he was responsible for Trading Administration and chaired the Risk Management Committee. Previously, he held the position of Group Marketing Manager at Citibank. Mr. Gradante entered the financial industry in 1971 through John Diebold Venture Capital Corp. Early in his career, Mr. Gradante worked on the lunar module and space shuttle programs as an engineer.

Mr. Gradante has co-hosted and made guest appearances on CNN and CNBC for his expertise on hedge funds and global financial markets, and appears monthly on Bloomberg. Additionally, Mr. Gradante sits on the International Association of Financial Engineers (IAFE) Credit Risk Management Committee.

Subsequent to the Long-Term Capital hedge fund crisis in August of 1998, Mr. Gradante was requested by Congress to provide expert testimony at the Congressional hearings on hedge funds. He participated in a SEC Roundtable on hedge fund regulation and a CFTC Roundtable on CPO and Commodity Pool Industry Issues. Mr. Gradante holds a Series 65 registration.
